Technical Specification
All Muckboots are made from CR-Foam, more commonly known as neoprene. CR-Foam is
a super dense material, yet lightweight, flexible and buoyant. It forms a
complete protective shield right around the foot, with seams cemented and
blind-stitched so there are no irritating ridges. This “sock” is 100% waterproof
all the way to the top. The soft stretch and warmth of the foam means there is
no need for extra socks and the shaft stretches to fit any calf size.
The foot and ankle of every Muckboots is fused to a tough natural rubber shell
for additional support and protection. Each style of Muckboot has an
individually tailored shell, to suit the type of work the boot was designed for.
Muckboots all have some heel and toe reinforcement which varies between styles.
The heels are reinforced to give support as in traditional walking boots.
Muckboot toes fall into two categories, ‘soft toes’ for recreation and ‘hard
toes’ for when the wearer is working with large animals or tools.
A 2mm Fibre Tek insole acts as a foundation for the shell preventing excessive
torsional twist. Heeled Muckboots have a steel shank for extra support.
Muckboots also have a removeable footbed made from Nitrocel foam; the
microscopic nitrogen bubbles provide additional insulation and cushioning. In
the heel of every Muckboot there is a shock-absorbing cushion made from
Muckboots’ own ABSORB open cell polymer.
Some boots, including The Tay and The Avon, feature Muckboots’ unique “air-mesh”
technology, providing an unmatched comfort range of +85ºF to -85ºF. All other
Muckboots are lined with a moisture-control double terry lining that wicks
moisture from the foot to increase comfort, cooling and general foot health.
